about me
By boboshady
That’s me. Sexy beast, no? That’s actually me in a hospital bed, with illness styled (albeit clean) hair and a face that screams pain. In normal circumstances, you’re much more likely to find me cheerful and much less likely to find me in pyjamas.
I currently work for Reading Room Manchester, officially heading up the strategy team but also dabbling in a lot of new business, technical specification and the occasional bit of office management. It may sound glamourous and important, but mostly it involves checking email a lot and arguing with people…except the strategy stuff, that is – that requires me to apply and continuously develop my decade-worth of industry knowledge. You’ll notice I didn’t say ‘hone’…that’s because I’m not a twat.
Outside of work, I tend to do a lot of the same sort of thing for friends and associates – I really do love this shit, and see no reason to stop doing it just because the clock passes 6pm. I’m also an avid musician, playing drums, keyboard and guitar to varying levels of awesomeness, and singing when drunk enough.
Lastly, I try to spend as much time as I can lavishing love and affection on my family – my beautiful partner Suzanne and perfect son, Toby. I wish I could spend more time with them, and I wish I could do it in Spain. Alas, Manchester will have to do just for now.
I should also mention that I’m lucky enough to be surrounded by a large group of friends from all backgrounds. Some of them are even dirty gays, and I think one of them considered being a lawyer once. I love them all without question as if they were middle class, white professionals.
I’d also like to thank my mom who supported me through drama school – this one’s for you, Cheryl!
If you’re still reading at this point, then maybe you should be talking to me – you’re obviously blessed with a similar sense of humour or you really want to hire me for something :) dropping an email to garry@oshady.com will get you started. Use the subject ‘yoyoyo, word from the website’ or it won’t get through. Seriously. Copy and paste it if you need to.
It’s been a pleasure.
